Maui story
Long, long ago on the time when maui’s village by the ocean. There was a mighty warrior named Maui. one day Maui went to go fishing on his waka….”Arrrr where’s my great waka?”
Meanwhile when Maui went to ask his brothers “ where’s my waka?” Maui told his brothers and they did not reply. Every time they tried to make a waka a colossal eel named Tuna kept on breaking the waka’s. So maui the mighty warrior made another waka and wait for Tuna to break the waka. He planned to catch the eel with his immense ell trap and he waited but Tuna never came.
Maui looked for rancid fish heads and tails to attract the eel and it worked! But he needed a stronger eel trap. So he got an eel trap with 50 hooks and 50 green stone hook then they put the hooks on the eel trap so they waited but the eel never came with a angry face and they did not catch the eel. This time they put 200 fish heads and 500 hooks! And the giant eel came and got the eel. But had to use his hinaki.
We have been writing Maui narratives based on a Maui picture.
